- Cross multiply to combine two fractions into one

- 6x/(x-1)(x+2) = A/(x-1) + B/(x+2)
- multiply each term by (x-1)(x+2)
- let x = 1
- let x = -2
Question 2
- 6x/(x-2)(x+1)2 = A/(x-1) + B/(x+1) + C/(x+1)2
- we are using all three factors of the denominator
- multiply each term by (x-2)(x+1)2
- let x = 1
- let x = -2
